Film production has expanded outside of Hollywood - studios are working all over the country in many different types of filming. Authentic Props are now needed on location.

Feature Films

• 95% of motion picture feature films utilize some sort of speciality Props.
• Vehicles are used in 95% of all feature films.
• Production studios may use your Prop for a single day, several days, or even for weeks during filming .
• Major production studios usually work to maintain authenticity in settings and Props; therefore, obtaining specific Props is often a priority.

Commericals
• There are currently hundreds of production studios producing thousands of commercials every year in all over the country.

• Many smaller localized production companies work on producing local commercials.

• Generally, commercial filming takes much less time than feature films- Props are fewer and shooting is shorter.

Photo Shoots

• Almost all of music album artwork, magazine photography, and still shots for television shows and commercials are done on location at a much faster pace than commerical and feature filming.

• Photo shoots are completed fast, and possibly quick money earners for Prop owners

Reality Television
• The reality television phenomenon has only grown phenominally in the last few years. This type of filming probably has the least need for Props provided by private parties, as it generally revolves around a particular person or place with their own Props and authenticity, or provide the 'caught on camera' theme..

Music Videos

• Music videos are often filmed in certain locals or states that offer tax incentives- in other words producers often travel for music video production.

• Flashy Props are often used in music videos- especially Cars and Trucks- these types of Props are mainstays in the music video production industry.

Documentaries

• Documentaries are generally of a historic nature and require Props of times past.

• This type of filming is usually smaller and focused- the need for exact replication is not manditory but a relative amount of accuracy in age and timing is required.

Episodic Television
• The majority of TV shows are actually filmed in studios in Hollywood with a pre-set focus that does not require detailed Prop authenticity.
• The cast & crew sizes for episodic television are somewhat less than that of a feature film.
• Each episode usually shoots in just a couple of weeks.
• Some current action series on television average almost 10 different filming locations per episode- these are cases where specific Props are sought.
